Western Maryland to get 800-job plant.

Florida-based Closet-Maid announced Nov. 20 it is building an 800-employee manufacturing plant in Garrett County in Western Maryland.

The plant will open in fall 2001. Ocala, Fla.-based ClosetMaid, a division of Emerson Electric, manufactures wire shelving, hardware and storage products.
