Lithuanian oil firm Mazeikiu Nafta (MN) has warned that inaction by the Baltic state's government is impeding its ability to raise long-term financing, jeopardising investment plans.
MN general-director Jim Scheel highlighted a "lack of communication" between the government and MN alongside its strategic investor US firm Williams. MN is awaiting government approval of its action plan for the company, and it is also awaiting the government's decision on a resolution from Lithuania's constitutional court that the MN/Williams contract is unconstitutional (FSUE, 27 October, p3).
