CTX International has issued eight new monitors in both LCD flat-panel and CRT flat-screen formats, several of which are designed to appeal to content creation and CAD/CAM professionals.

The Vivid LCD Flat Panel product group features both PC- and Macintosh-compatible active-matrix displays in 15-, 17-, and 18-inch versions. The high-end member of the family is the 18-inch PV880, which has an 18.1-inch viewable area, SXGA resolution of 1280 by 1024 (1024 by 768 for the Macintosh platform), and a 75HZ refresh rate. According to the company, these features, plus the monitor's super-wide viewing angle and the availability of one upstream and four downstream USB hubs, make it suitable for high-resolution applications. The PV880 costs $3199.
