2001 FEB 15 (NewsRx.com) -- While black women over age 70 had lower mortality rates for breast cancer than older white women in the 1980s, they started experiencing higher rates in 1993.
Trends in risk factors, early detection, and treatment do not provide an obvious explanation for the substantial increase in breast cancer deaths for older black women.
