KUCHING - The State government would upgrade all major libraries in phases to shift from a production-based economy into a knowledge-based economy, which would help in creating a knowledge-based society in Sarawak, said State Secretary, Abdul Aziz Hussain, here.

He said the one-year-old Sarawak State Library (SSL) was the first library in Sarawak which has been designed to incorporate the aesthetics, social and recreational aspects into knowledge related activities to achieve such an objective.
