The term "work force development" crosses many lips these days and won't disappear quickly.

Work force development remains popular because of the imbalance between supply and demand in the work force. The skills needed in the new economy do not match up with the skills held by many.

Discussions are taking place at the national, state and local level that focus on how the educational system should be responding to the need for new workers with new skills in order to meet the demands of the labor market.

The definition of work force development needs expansion to include redevelopment and continuous development to place additional emphasis on other aspects of development.
