A Baltimore company's pact with two of the world's largest car manufacturers will likely net the Port of Baltimore an additional $1 million in revenues and at least 55 new jobs.
American Port Services Inc., which moved its headquarters to Baltimore in 1999, secured three-year contracts with both Ford and Volvo to bring an additional 25,000 Ford cars and 33,000 Volvos through the port by the end of this year.
The contracts, which begin next month, are expected to bring more than 200,000 additional cars through Baltimore within three years and will generate several million dollars in revenues for the port.
