The Celtics won eight of their first 12 games after the departure of coach Rick Pitino, and SF Paul Pierce has been on a tear. Pierce has averaged 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.5 steals since Jim O'Brien replaced Pitino. The Celtics have stopped worrying whether Pierce and PF Antoine Walker take too many shots, and so far the two-man show is working well.
