Welcome to the new and improved Top Commercial Real Estate Firms in San Francisco List.

After several months of intense research and late night phone calls, we've come up with a new way to rank firms, a way that's a little more measurable than last year's criteria.

Instead of ranking brokers by the total commercial space they've secured for clients, we've gone a simpler route this year and ranked them by number of brokers in their San Francisco offices.

After all, it's much easier to count brokers instead of transactions and space. Of course, if you're interested in space secured, that is still included; we have just pushed it over a few lines.

Now let's say you're reading this list because you've decided it's time to secure a couple of tenants for that high-rise office tower you own downtown. You've come to the right place. Check out the "services" column. There are more than a few San Francisco brokers who specialize, in securing office space.

Maybe you're also looking for someone with offices at the national level. No problem, take a look at the "number of offices nationally" column. BT Commercial/NAI, Trammell Crow and CB Richard Ellis Inc. all lead the way with the most offices nationally.

Finally, if you have not already counted them on this List, there are approximately 400 commercial brokers in San Francisco ready to meet your real estate needs.

All told, San Francisco brokers secured approximately 96,262,628 square feet in the Bay Area last year. Office space made up a significant portion of space secured in the Bay Area.
