Wrapping up nearly eight months after it began, negotiations between Blue Cross of California and San Francisco-based IPA Brown and Toland ended with a renewed contract
The 105,000 Blue Cross members, pending approval at a Brown and Toland meeting on Feb. 13, can now continue to see doctors in the 1,600-doctor-member IPA.
If approved, the contract would be the first bit of good news for Blue Cross since the Dec. 31 Sutter Health contract non-renewal. The lack of contract between the two left Blue Cross without sufficient doctors in a number of counties in the Bay Area.
