MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 13, 2001
Rimage Corporation (Nasdaq:RIMG) has today announced two new single-drive 12X CD-R publishing systems designed and competitively priced for the office environment. The Desktop Publisher 800 and Network Publisher 800 are MSRP priced at only $4500 and $5200 respectively and can handle up to 50 CDs for true lights-out production. Both models will be available for mass shipping within the first quarter 2001.
These PC host-based systems feature silent operation, compact design and sophisticated robotics. Both systems contain one 12X CD-R drive, a 50-disc autoloader, a 1200 dpi ink jet printer for high resolution and CD production software specifically designed for the office environment. The Network Publisher 800 includes Rimage's proprietary OfficeNet software suite, which allows users from multiple interoffice departments to create custom CD-Rs from a central publishing station.
"Its quiet operation and compact desktop design allows it to fit into any office environment," said Jim Lewis, Rimage's vice president business development. "In addition, host-based publishing systems can download software updates and enhancements via e-mail so systems remain up-to-date," he added.
Other advantages include greater stability and uniform speed in production because PC processors are more powerful than on-board processors contained in stand-alone systems. Rimage plans to use 16X recorders when the next generation drives become widely available.
The Network Publisher 800 model also can print and record simultaneously to increase performance. Users can download and prioritize as many jobs as desired. ...
