Britain's leading health organizations supported the use of the triple vaccine given to young children to protect them against measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR).

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and the British Medical Association (BMA) were among leading health organizations who endorsed the MMR vaccine at a summit called by the government's chief medical officer Liam Donaldson to discuss the safety of the vaccine.

A report by Dr. Andrew Wakefield and other studies has raised safety concerns related to the MMR vaccine - one vaccine to cover all three diseases as opposed to separate vaccines for each disease. However, the U.K.'s Department of Health says all the evidence has been reviewed by independent scientific experts on the Committee on Safety of Medicines which has advised the ...
