Imported footwear prices increase 3.9% during '88 WASHINGTON (FNS) -- Prices for imported footwear advanced 3.9 percent in the year ending December 1988, and a more moderate 0.9 percent for the fourth quarter of 1988, the Labor Department reported recently.

By comparison, prices for imported shoes increased 8.8 percent in 1987 and 10.7 percent in 1986.

The fourth quarter increase in prices followed the year's only quarterly decrease of 1.2 percent. Import prices in the first quarter of 1988 climbed 0.9 percent over year-earlier leves, and …
