The sultry Yale sophomore spills all about smooching on the set and her sexy main squeeze, Mark Wahlberg.
* While Jordana Brewster's female Yale classmates sweat over juggling study time and dates with college guys, the Hollywood actress--cum--Ivy Leaguer deals with a more complicated feat--jetting 3,000 miles to L.A. for rendezvous with her two-year honey, actor Mark Wahlberg. "It would be nice if we were in the same city," says Jordana, who won't reveal more about her romance with one of America's most lusted-after men.
But long-distance love will have to suffice--Brewster has just returned to New Haven, Connecticut, for her sophomore year after taking the fall semester off to shoot the action movie Redline. And this month, her new film, Invisible Circus, costarring Cameron Diaz, premieres. Luckily, the 20-year-old handles the hectic pace with impressive ease, perhaps because she rolls with the punches.
How She Learned to Kiss
When Brewster was in fourth grade, she moved with her family from Brazil to Manhattan--and the raven-haired beauty always felt out of place at the elite all-girls school she attended there. "I wanted to fit in, so I shopped at L.L. Bean because I thought that epitomized American style," she says with a laugh.
At age 15, Brewster, who had dabbled in acting as a hobby, landed the role of Nikki Graves on CBS'S popular soap As the World Turns. But her three-year stint on daytime TV didn't prepare her for her first film, 1998's horror flick The Faculty--at least as far as kissing scenes go. On soaps, Brewster explains, actors actually kiss when rehearsing. So when it came time to practice a smooching scene with costar Elijah Wood, Brewster planted a sensuous smacker on him.
