What lies between your everyday attractive appearance and you a your most drop-dead devastating? Cosmo's answer: the insider know-how of our top experts and a little extra effort on your part. Whether you want to look seriously stunning for a special soiree or just blow your man away on your standing Saturday-night date, the following strategies are guaranteed to give you those results. We'll be honest--this isn't a five-minute quick-fix routine. But if you give us about 45 minutes for hair and makeup, we'll give you a molten-hot look. "Achieving a strikingly sexy effect involves pumping up your features in just the right way," says NYC makeup artist Leslie Lopez, who re the behind-the-scenes tricks she uses on many o our cover shoots; "Line your lips so they look fuller, and fill in your brows to make your eyes stand out. Layer a pink blush over a bronzer for a flushed cheek effect."

The same attention should be paid to your hair, says Max Pinnell, the NYC tresspert who often joins forces with Lopez to create our cover looks. "If you put in the time and effort to make your mane soft, shiny, and full of luscions body, your locks will live up to every man's fantasy," says Pinnell. What are you waiting for? Turn the page to learn how to cop a knockout look.

1 Nab the lush body that's key to sexed-up tresses by spritzing a styling spray onto the roots of clean hair that's been towel-dried and combed. We used Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray, $15. Lift three-inch sections at a time, aiming the bottle's nozzle directly at your scalp.

2 Blow-dry your hair haphazardly using your hands to scrunch sections until they're almost dry. "Tousling your hair as it dries really pumps up the volume," says Pinnell. Note: If your hair is curly, keep the blow dryer on a low setting and pointed downward to prevent poufiness.

3 So locks will achieve an irresistible sheen, finish blow-drying your hair using a paddle brush to create smooth texture and nix any flyaways. Then apply a dime-size amount of shine serum to palms, rub hands together, and lightly smooth them over your mane. Try Redken Glass, $12.95. Begin creating touchable, romantic curls by loosely spiraling a two-inch section of hair around a large curling iron, holding it for five seconds, and releasing.

4 Immediately after you've curled that section, wrap the ringlet around your finger and secure it to your scalp with a bobby pin. Continue curling and pinning sections until your whole head is done, then let it set while you move on to your get-racy makeup routine.
