34 hurt as JAL planes nearly collide.

At least 34 people were injured Wednesday on a Japan Airlines (JAL) jet flying to Naha, after it nearly collided with another JAL flight.

Flight 907 bound for Naha almost collided with Flight 958 bound for Narita Airport from Pusan, South Korea, at around 4:10 p.m. over Yaizu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Land, Infrastructure and Transport Ministry officials said.

JAL officials said that the 34 people were hurt when the pilot brought the plane into a sudden dive to avoid the collision.

Of the injured, the most serious were Mochizuki Tomoko, a 35-year-old cabin attendant, who sustained serious injuries all over her body and a passenger who suffered a broken …
