I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE CAR'S immediate performance as compared with my 2000 convertible. I was also pleasantly surprised by the relative comfort of the ride, especially considering the stouter suspension. I welcome the lower clutch pedal force, the seemingly endless torque and the new transmission gearing.
Only dislikes are that I miss the sport seats, the HUD and the wheel pressure sensors. I'd also welcome a somewhat louder exhaust note.

THE DIFFERENCE IN THE DRIVING experience between my 1998 C5 coupe and the Z06 was felt about 200 yards off the dealership lot. Wow, real good low-end. The power increase over a regular Vette is pretty dramatic, yet still not the big kick in power I was hoping for. My '98 had the Z51 suspension and I thought that was good enough, but it pales in comparison to the Z06. The new Vette is crisper, with more confident handling in the corners. The different shifter and beefed-up transmission are a definite plus. The new Goodyear tires seem to have great stick. The car does not have a squeak in it.
