The attention the PT Cruiser receives is a given, even though PT Cruisers are now everywhere and as a fad, had peaked by the time we took delivery of ours. Still, you have to get on a waiting list to get one. As the latest member of our long-term fleet to go waving the style banner, though, the Cruiser boasts many other attributes that make it a popular choice with AutoWeek staff.
It's done its share of commuter chores this first quarter, most notably as the equivalent of a soccermommobile for many staffers' families, who are particularly enamored with the novelty of the Cruiser. It may not look roomy, but there's tons of useful space inside. Passengers enjoy ample leg- and headroom, and the reconfigurability of the interior is one of the Cruiser's smartest features.
