Walking Your Way to Fitness

Another year of holiday celebrations. This means parties, reunions, eating food, and more food. Every year, we promise we "will never eat like that again," and we will positively take advantage of the specials offered for membership at the local health club. This year, why not avoid those self-defeating behaviors and get off on the right foot (o pun intended) with my mini-exercise plan.

Walking is the most realistic and best form of exercise for a "holiday shape-up" program. Don't dismiss walking as exercise because it seems to place small demands on your body. Walking can yield the same aerobic benefits as other aerobic exercises provided you walk for a longer time each session, …
