Jeffrey Yapp stepped down after three years as Hollywood Entertainment Corp. president and CEO.

His departure came after an October announcement that Hollywood's third quarter earnings would fall far short of analysts' expectations.

The announcement was accompanied by a 50 percent drop in share value. Neither Yapp Hollywood Entertainment chairman and CEO Mark Wattles would comment on the departure.
