Spencer Leyton latest to depart Symantec

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Spencer Leyton is heading north.

Ending a year-long stint at Cupertino, Calif.-based Symantec Corp., Leyton announced last week that he is leaving his post as general manager of the company's Living Videotext division to head a start-up PC software company in Bellevue, Wash.

He becomes the third major executive to resign from Symantec in the past six months. In March, Living Videotext founder Dave Winer left the company.
