The economy may be slowing after the heady 1990s, but there are already big lessons in the business world from those who've gotten burned, or, more accurately, burned themselves in the past year or so.

A few can be summarized in the form of biblical commandments, since retribution to those who violated these rules was swift and uncompromising in an Old Testament kind of way. Here we go:
