OSAKA: A 63-year-old unemployed man from Yodogawa Ward, Osaka, is suspected of having conducted a fraudulent fund-raising campaign on the streets in which he received a total of about 1 million yen for his own use by asking for donations for his injured dogs.

Police said Wednesday they would soon send papers on the man to prosecutors on suspicion that the man violated of the Law Concerning the Protection of Animals.
