As a partnership of institutions make transplantation history, San Antonio takes another giant step forward in becoming a world-class center for breakthrough medical research and treatment.

University Health System (UHS) and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSC) have now performed their 100th liver transplant for 2000. A first, UHS becomes one of only seven hospitals in the nation to reach this plateau. This places UHS and UTHSC in the same company with institutions such as Mt. Sinai Medical Center and the UCLA Medical Center.
