Islacom expects to restore service in Visayas after bombing' incident.

CEBU CITY - Isla Communications Co. (Islacom) expects to have completed restoration of mobile and fixed-line services in Eastern Visayas and some northern Cebu towns by yesterday, five days after its cell site in Danao City was allegedly bombed.

As of 8 p.m. last Wednesday, public relations officer Jerry Yntig of Globe Telecom GMCR for VisMin area said they have restored Islacom and Globe mobile services in Cebu and in Eastern Visayas. Ayala-controlled Globe Telecom holds controlling interest in Islacom.

But Mr. Yntig said they are still working on the interconnection with other telecommunications networks such as the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. …
