Vanguard Health dumps Cigna after reimbursement stalemate.(Brief Article)
Vanguard Health Systems Inc. has terminated its contract with Cigna HealthCare of Arizona Inc.
Vanguard represented 4.1 percent of all member hospital stays for Cigna, which has more than 500,000 enrollees in Arizona, said Tania Graves, Cigna spokeswoman.
Based in Tennessee, Vanguard operates three Valley hospitals: Maryvale Hospital in Phoenix; Phoenix Baptist Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix; and Arrowhead Community Hospital in Glendale.
