S.R.O. APARTMENT BUILDING

CLIENT: H.E.L.R Buffalo

ARCHITECT: Flynn Battaglia Architects, PC

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The historic masonry building (c. 1870), formerly the Buffalo Awning and Tent factory was adapted to house seven apartments for 26 residents and support office spaces in approximately 18,500 square feet. The floor plan balances socialization and privacy through a mix of public living rooms and private rooms. The building's distinctive Second Empire features, including a 55-foot high turret with a high mansard roof were restored in accordance with the Department of Interior and State Historic Preservation Office guidelines. The project developed an identifiable high quality image for HELP Buffalo.
