New players say DoE sitting on Big Three predatory pricing complaint.

New oil players have scored the Department of Energy's alleged inaction (DoE) over complaints that the so-called Big Three have engaged in predatory pricing.

The New Petroleum Players Association of the Philippines (NPPAP) said it has sent two letters to Energy secretary Mario V. Tiaoqui - dated Sept. 14 and Nov. 20 - calling for the creation of a task force that will investigate the alleged predatory pricing. The DoE, however, has yet to act on the matter, it said.

The NPPAP, the umbrella organization of new oil companies which set up shop following the deregulation of the downstream oil industry in 1998, is composed of Eastern Petroleum Corp., Total Petroleum Phils. Corp., Unioil …
