A subgroup from the Clinical Practice Committee has been very busy in the 2 months following the National Conference. There are three documents under review for possible publication: "Children and Families: Partners in Asthma Care," "Family-Centered Care: Putting It Into Action," and "Standards for Advanced Practice Pediatric Nursing Education and Statement of the Scope and Practice of Pediatric Nursing."

Early on, the SPN Board of Directors determined it was important for the organization to develop standards of clinical practice. Asthma was chosen as one of the first topics for the development of practice guidelines because it is one of the most common diagnoses …
