A delegation from Latvian crude terminal operator Ventspils Nafta (VN) was in Moscow this week to discuss a demand from Russian exporters for reduced tariffs for shipments through the Baltic states. The Latvian side has linked the issue to crude throughput guarantees from Russian firms.
The six main Russian exporters through Ventspils -- Lukoil, Yukos, Slavneft, Tatneft, Tyumen Oil and Sidanco -- demanded cuts from VN and port and pipeline operators in Latvia and Lithuania worth an overall 50 [cts.]/t (FSUE, 3 November, p8).
