Medical Center at Lancaster sold earlier this year

OAK CLIFF -- HCA Inc.-The Healthcare Co. has confirmed the sale of the 104-bed Dallas Southwest Medical Center to the nonprofit Oak Cliff Medical Foundation in an agreement finalized Oct. 27.

New CEO Jimmy Brown started Nov. 2, but HCA will continue to support the hospital as it eases into the transition, said Michael Bernard, president of HCA's national division in Nashville, Tenn. Bernard would not elaborate on details of the sale or say much about why Southwest was sold. The purchase price was not disclosed.
