Bangko Sentral chief sees November inflation at 5%-5.5% (Full-year figure to remain below target, says Buenaventura).

November inflation is expected to come in at between 5% and 5.5% due to a weaker peso, the Bangko Sentral yesterday said.

"Apart from the weaker peso, several factors will also contribute to the increase in the inflation rate," Bangko Sentral Gov. Rafael B. Buenaventura told reporters.

Inflation is the rate of increase in the process of goods and services over a given period.

Last month, the government said local prices rose by 4.9%, bringing the 10-month inflation rate average to 3.9%.

An inflation rate of 5.5% for this month will bring the average inflation rate to 4.1%.
