Japan Honda's new Civic, unveiled to the European market at the Paris Motor Show last September, goes against the trend of making cars larger. The new four-door model is actually 2mm shorter than previously at 4,458mm, but width and height are increased slightly to 1,715mm and 1,440mm respectively. The styling concentrates on plain, conservative lines rather than going for an innovative or attention-grabbing image. There is also a two-door coupe, which shares the basic styling of the four-door and hatchbacks with different styling details.
