Manila Hotel seeks Supreme Court resolution of wage case.

The Manila Hotel Corp. has asked the Supreme Court (SC) to nullify a Labor department decision ordering it to pay a former food and beverage director P1.4 million in back wages following his alleged illegal termination in 1998.

In a petition, Manila Hotel also pleaded the High Tribunal to issue a restraining order against the implementation of the ruling pending an ongoing review of the case.

"The decision of the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) in favor of respondent is not yet final and executory in view of the pendency of this case, but the undue haste in implementing the same will create a dangerous precedent and render the instant case moot and …
