Court urges pollution suit settlement Yomiuri OSAKA The Osaka High Court on Tuesday called on the central government, the Hanshin Expressway Public Corporation and a group of residents of Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, to reach agreement on an air pollution suit before oral pleadings begin on Sept. 21. Judge Keisaku Senoo urged the 379 residents, who are suffering from asthma they say was caused by exposure to vehicle exhaust fumes, and the two other parties to overcome their differences and prevent the suit from continuing its slow passage through the courts.
