The nation's unemployment rate for July, seasonally adjusted, stood at a still significant 4.7 percent, the same level as in June, the Management and Coordination Agency said Tuesday.

The 3.07 million people who sought work but could not find jobs, however, represented a decrease for a third consecutive month, and the figure was down 120,000 from July last year.

The Labor Ministry also announced Tuesday that the number of new job vacancies increased an impressive 17.2 percent on a year-on-year basis, mainly in the information technology sector.
