A telecom hotel is planned in midtown Phoenix by a new company scouting several western states for future projects.

Ideal Development Corp. in January will start construction of a three-story, 45,000-square-foot building south of the southwest corner of Third Street and Indian School Road.

Company owner Terrence Plas said he bought the land earlier this month. He said several prospective tenants are interested in leasing the entire building, but he declined to identify them.

The building designer is Mittelstaedt, Grover & Cooper. The contractor is Renaissance Cos.
