Miami isn't the only area expecting five-star hotels in South Florida.

The Castillo Grand will now bear The St. Regis Hotel and Residences Fort Lauderdale as its name, making it the first five-star hotel ever built in Broward County.

The $160 million property will be the 10th member of the St. Regis luxury hotel group and the first new hotel in the East to carry the name since John Jacob Astor built the original St. Regis in New York in 1904. St. Regis is now part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, which includes the Sheraton and Weston brands, but has kept its exclusivity and scarcity with a limited number of hotels - only seven now with another three opening in …
