Postmenopausal women using hormone replacement therapy have a lower incidence of peripheral vascular disease than those not using it, according to a new Dutch study (Archives of Internal Medicine 2000; 160:2498502). The study results suggest that hormone replacement therapy may protect against atherosclerosis.
