ACCOUNTING

Leonard Romano of Graham, Cot-trill, Jackson, Batts & Hostetter has been promoted to senior accountant. Anthony L. Gregory also has been promoted to supervisor and recently received the certified fraud examiner designation by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

ARCHITECTS

Heber (Bud) Stone Jr. has joined GLE Associates Inc. as a senior architect. Stone has more than 20 years of experience in the management of architectural projects. He is a registered architect in a number of states and serves as vice president of the Gulf Coast chapter of American Institute of Architects (AIA). GLE Associates Inc. is an architectural, engineering, environmental consulting and construction management firm.

Masao Yamada has joined MRI Architectural Group Inc. as project manager and designer. Yamada has over 30 years of experience as an architectural designer. Previously, Yamada was a partner for Reef Yamada & Associates in Tampa.

ATTORNEYS

Howard S. Marks unanimously was elected as chairman for the 2000-2001 term of the Florida Commission on Ethics. Marks was appointed to the commission in 1998 by Senate President Toni Jennings, and was reappointed to serve another two-year term. Marks is a partner in the Graham, Clark, Jones, Builder, Pratt & Marks law firm in Winter Park. He is board certified by The Florida Bar in both civil trial practice and business litigation.

Catherine Peek McEwen, a shareholder with Akerman Senterfitt, has been appointed to chair the Local Rules Lawyers' Advisory Committee of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida. The committee is responsible for making recommendations to the court for amendments to the rules governing practice and procedure.

Albert F. Tellechea, a shareholder at the Orlando office of Akerman Senterfitt, was appointed general counsel of the Hispanic National Bar Association by the new president, Rafael Santiago. Tellechea formerly was secretary for the HNBA board of governors.
