Pittsburgher takes leadership role in firm

A specialty finance company that works through auto dealers to finance new-and used-car loans has gotten a $12.5 million infusion to grow the business.

Dublin, Ohio-based Continental Auto Receivables Inc. was founded a year ago by six principals, including former Columbus bankers William Coombs, president and CEO, and Ronald Koncal, chief investment officer, secretary and treasurer, and a venture capital company out of Cleveland.

Since opening in October, the company has financed 5,000 new-car and used-car consumer loans totaling more than $60 million. Loans were arranged through dealerships, mostly in …
