Phisix racks up a 4th day of gain despite weak peso, slow trading.

Trades were again flat yesterday as the peso continued to sink to fresh lows. early trade.

Even with continued jitters over the peso's volatility, the 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange composite index (Phisix) still managed to edge up 2.59 points, or 0.18%, to 1,441.83.

This marked the fourth day in a row that the index closed on the positive column. It has racked up a total of 21.22 points in gains over the four-day streak.

The Phisix has been steadily gaining on the back of end-quarter window dressing and brow-beaten stocks being cherry-picked at dirt-cheap levels.

The broader All Shares index, meanwhile, inched up 0.18 point, or 0.03%, to 679.41.

Value turnover remained thin at P421.87 million while total volume amounted to 294.23 million shares.
