Documentary captures Milwaukee's history along with County Stadium's
The team has just moved into the new ballpark and is on the verge of drawing more than 2 million fans in a season. A panoramic view of the Milwaukee skyline captures the eyes, just beyond the outfield fences. The sign atop the scoreboard boasts, "Miller High Life."
Sounds like an architect's vision of Miller Park in 2001, right? Yes, but it also perfectly describes the scene at Milwaukee County Stadium shortly after it opened in 1953.
In many ways, Milwaukee's baseball history will repeat itself when the Brewers open the turnstiles at Miller Park next spring. The Milwaukee Brewers can only hope Miller Park survives as long and functions as admirably as County Stadium has served for the past 47 years.
