Gresik, E. Java, Aug 25 (ANTARA) - President Abdurrahman Wahid reiterated here Friday industrialization should not ignore the environment because in the long run it will burden the local people.

"But I belief it is not proper to blame industrialization alone for all the problems (of the environment). There should be a win-win solution between the industry and the environment," the President said when inaugurating 10 investment projects.

The President, popularly known as Gus Dur, has asked PT Petrokimia Gresik, Semen Gresik and other industries in the region to set aside some of their money for environmental research.
