City Council President Bob O'Connor's annual cookie cruise fund-raiser on the Gateway Clipper Fleet's Majestic is scheduled for Aug. 29. The event, in its 10th year, has been planned for months. Attendees are asked to donate to Mr. O'Connor's campaign coffers and bring a dozen or so of their favorite cookies.

Mr. O'Connor, who represents Hays on council, is considered to be Mayor Tom Murphy's main challenger in next year's mayoral election.
