Union Planters Bank is quickly moving UP the U.S. Small Business Administration's list of South Florida lenders.
Through the quarter ended June 30, the third quarter in SBA's fiscal year 2000, Union Planters was fifth in South Florida with 41 loans in the SBA's 7(a) program. Most of Union Planters SBA-guaranteed loans have principal of $150,000 or less.
"We are looking to expand our SBA lending because we feel it is a natural fit with our overall lending program," said Evan Rees, Union Planters' executive vice president for small business banking in Florida.
