In anticipation of the upcoming International Licensing Show, which will take place in New York from June 13 to 15, the major Hollywood studios are gearing up to present a number of new and renewed licensing programs.
Several highly anticipated motion picture sequels will be on tap at this year's licensing show. One of the biggest potential sequel blockbusters scheduled for release in 2001 with be Universal Pictures' and Amblin Entertainment's third chapter of one of the most successful film franchises in history, "Jurassic Park."
Technology will not only play a role on screen in "Jurassic Park III," but will also be a star at retail in the products that are being spun from the film.
"Every single sku in the entire 'Jurassic Park' line from Hasbro will have an interactive component to it. Right on down to the smallest dinosaur, we will have interactive features," said Tim Rothwell, senior vp of sales, retail development and merchandising for Universal Studios Consumer Products.
