MDC suggests merging awards.

MULTIMEDIA Development Corporation (MDC) has proposed the merging of information and communications technology (ICT) awards in the country.

Its executive chairman Tan Sri Dr Othman Yeop Abdullah said only the awards that could benefit both sectors as well as the the companies taking part should be continued.

Othman said he has talked to several award organisers including the Association of Computer and Multimedia Industry of Malaysia (Pikom), which is receptive towards the idea.

"Although there are parties resisting this idea of merging the awards, we believe that this would eventually be realised once those involved see the rationale behind this." …
