Art Jacob to leave NSTA after 10 years at helm NEW YORK -- Art Jacob, president of the National Shoe Travelers Association (NSTA), will resign his position to pursue personal interests in the management recruiting and consulting field.

Jacob, who has been the paid director of NSTA since 1978, delivered an unexpected and emotional resignation speech to the NSTA membership during its recent 77th annual meeting in Bal Harbor, Fla. He said his decision to leave NSTA at a date no later than Oct. 1, 1988, was not made overnight, but after much thought about both his future and the organization's.
