SHAH ALAM, Aug 7 (Bernama) -- The Selangor State Legislative Assembly here today passed a bill to change the Shah Alam Municipal Council (MPSA) to Shah Alam City Hall, following the upgrading of the Selangor capital to city status from Oct 10, 2000.
The Shah Alam City Council 2000 Bill also retains the authority, responsibility and privileges of the council officers following the upgrading exercise.
"Shah Alam has enough criteria to be upgraded as a city," said State Local Government Committee Chairman Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Ahmad Dahalan when tabling the bill.
